REMEMBER – NO OUTDOOR WATERING
The City of Midland is currently performing major repairs at the Water Purification Plant. These repairs require the facility to shut down. This limits the ability to deliver water to the City. Our ability to deliver water to the City is reduced from 50 million gallons per day (mgd) to around 18 mgd.
For this reason, the City asked residents to curtail any outside watering during this period to ensure we have adequate supplies. On Monday and Tuesday of this week, residents used 10-11 mgd but by Wednesday, demands were up to 15 mgd. This is getting close to the capacity.
The City is once again strongly urging residents to curtail outside watering. One house may seem to make little difference but together they quickly add up. Failure to stop this activity may result in inadequate supplies to the City resulting in low pressures and possible outages. The City appreciates the cooperation of all customers as we strive to improve service.
This project will be completed on February 21st and outdoor watering can resume on February 22nd.
