POND STOCKING
One of the City’s two fishing ponds will be freshly stocked with trout.

The pond at Beal Park, 5200 West Wall will be stocked on Thursday, February 26, 2009

All state fishing laws apply at the City’s two ponds, Beal and CJ Kelly, and both ponds are monitored by state game wardens.  For more information on the State of Texas fishing laws, visit the TPWD website, www.tpwd.state.tx.us.


INJUNCTION GRANTED
A final civil hearing regarding Pleasures Club was held today, Thursday, February 26, 2009.  A court ordered injunction was issued on the property for one year.

Previously, on January 28, 2009, a temporary injunction was granted.

The business/property will be closed for the next year and no business of any type will be operated at the location.

The Attorney General’s Office represented the State of Texas on behalf of the Midland Police Department.  District Judge John Hyde heard the testimony and granted the permanent injunction. 


ANNUAL SERVICE AWARDS BANQUET
The City of Midland will honor 99 employees for their service to Midland.  The annual longevity banquet will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2009, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Petroleum Club.
