STATE OF THE CITY ADDRESS
If you were unable to attend Mayor Wes Perry’s State of the City address, there is another opportunity to view a video of the event.
Beginning Monday, March 2, 2009, Suddenlink and Grande customers can tune into Tall City TV, the City’s cable access station, and view the address. The 50-minute video will air at 9 a.m., noon, 3 p.m., 6 p.m., and 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. Suddenlink customers can tune into Tall City TV channel two while Grande customers can tune into Tall City TV channel six.
The State of the City address is also available on the City’s website www.midlandtexas.gov.
CONSTRUCTION SCAM ARREST
Midland Police have arrested one man and charged him with Theft over $1,500 in connection with a string of construction scams.
54-year-old Alfredo Cantu (11-10-54) was arrested on February 26, 2009. He is accused of bidding on jobs, getting money from clients up front, and then disappearing. In some cases, he would begin the job with no intent of finishing. Cantu is currently charged with one count with others pending.
Officers believe Cantu targeted older clients. There may be more victims that do not realize they have been scammed. If anyone thinks they may have been scammed, contact the Midland Police Department at 685.7108.
