SWIMMING POOL OPERATORS COURSE
The City of Midland Health Department will be providing a Swimming Pool Operators Maintenance Course for pool owners and managers.
There will be two separate classes to choose from. One will take place in the morning from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2009, and the other in the afternoon from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. Both classes will take place at the Beal Park Community Center, 5220 W. Wall Street.

DEPARTMENT SEARCHING FOR OFFICER CANDIDATES
The Midland Police Department is looking to fill vacancies for the position of Police Officer. On Saturday, April 25, 2009, at 9:00 a.m. potential candidates will be tested with a physical and written examination.
All interested persons should report to the Midland Police Department. Candidates must have either 60 college hours or a combination of college and relevant work experience (military, corrections, or previous Law Enforcement. Persons wanting to be tested must bring their social security card and a state identification.
Candidates meeting the requirements will first take the written test. Those that pass will then take the physical fitness test which consists of push-ups, sit-ups, and a 1.5 mile run.
The testing is in an effort to fill the August 2009, police academy. The department currently has 20 positions available.

MISSING PERSON LOCATED
Police have located a man thought to be missing. 37-year-old Timothy Dwayne Hunter (7-23-71) contacted authorities today. He is safe and in Midland.
