OUTDOOR BURN BAN LIFTED
Midland County officials have released the burn ban in affect for Midland County.
Although the ban is lifted, the Midland Fire Department reminds citizens that outdoor burning is not allowed within the city limits without a permit. Outdoor burning within the city can be done only after calling the Midland Fire Marshal’s office and requesting an inspection of debris to be burned. If the material meets the criteria for burning, a permit may be issued. Most permits are restricted to areas outside developed neighborhoods.
For residents outside the city limits, the Fire Department requests they call the non-emergency number, 685.7340, to report their location and time of their control burn. This will help the dispatchers and firefighters from responding to false alarms.
