MANSLAUGHTER
A man involved in a fatality accident last weekend now faces charges of Manslaughter and Aggravated Assault.
28-year-old William Robert Hale (4-8-81) is charged with Manslaughter and Aggravated Assault in connection with the October 11, 2009, accident which claimed the life of 18-year-old Ariel Corley. 18-year-old Emily Thon was seriously injured in the accident.
Investigators determined Hale was the driver of the 2005 Toyota Rav4.
At approximately 3:20 a.m. on October 11, 2009, Midland Police were called to the scene of a fatality accident on the Loop 250 service road just south of Anetta.
A 2005 blue Toyota Rav4 was traveling north on Loop 250 when it veered off the road on the east shoulder and hit a concrete culver. The vehicle flipped, rolling several times, before landing on the northbound service road of the Loop. The vehicle came to rest on its top and was on fire. Investigators believe the gas tank was damaged when the vehicle hit the concrete area.
At the time, Hale was arrested on six unrelated warrants.
