STREET CLOSURE
Starting Monday, June 28, 2010, the City of Midland Transportation Division will continue the  Golf Course Road Level-Up project.

Golf Course Road between Northup Drive and Garfield Street will be closed Monday, June 28 through Friday, July 2, allowing workers to level up the roadway, weather permitting. Traffic will be detoured through the adjacent neighborhood.

It is advised motorists who normally use Golf Course Road between Northup Drive and Garfield Street should use an alternate route.

Please observe and obey all traffic signs and detours during this maintenance period.

The City of Midland Transportation Division will continue to level up Golf Course Road moving toward A Street in the weeks to come. The Level-Up project will provide protection to the driving surface of the roadway, thus creating a smoother ride for motorists.

TALL GRASS AND WEEDS
The City of Midland Code Enforcement Division would like to remind residents to mow tall grass and weeds on their property.

A violation to City Code exits whenever grass or weeds exceeds 18-inches in height or if brush is greater than 24-inches in height. Brush with a trunk greater than 10-inches in width at the base is allowed to remain.

Property must be maintained from the edge of the street or curb to the rear of property including approximately 10-feet into the alley.

Failure to maintain property as described may result in a notice and letter being sent to the property owner requesting the property to be mowed within ten days.

If the property is not mowed within the time allotted, the property will be placed on the mowing list and a mowing contractor will mow the property. The property owner will be invoiced for the mowing contractor plus a $50 administration fee.

Owners who do not pay invoices within sixty days will have a lien filed against their property. The lien filing fee and interest will be added to the total amount owed in order to release the lien.

Assistance programs for the elderly or disabled are available. Large acreage tracts of land have similar requirements.
