February Sales Tax Revenues
The City of Midland has collected this month's revenue from the State Comptroller's Office. The total amount of revenue received was $3,462,799.
This month's figure reflects an 11.6% increase or a $359,901 increase from February 2011.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2011-2012 is up 18.68% or a $2,211,638 increase from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $14,051,177.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; February collection is based on December sales.
Traffic Accident
The Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to 4519 Spence at 9:10 pm in reference to an accident.
A Blue Hyundai driven by Byron Beasley was traveling westbound on Briarwood in the inside lane. Beasley lost control and ran into the house. The room that the vehicle went into was unoccupied at the time.
No injuries, Beasley was transported for evaluation.
No charges at this time.
