Horse Incident
The Midland Police Department responded to an incident at 5:41pm at the intersection of Todd Drive and Marie Drive.
Upon arrival, emergency responders found out that two people were horseback riding near the fence line of a 5-acre lot near Todd Drive. The wind picked up and had blown a plastic bag in the air, which startled one of the horses. Rider Pedro Molina lost control of his startled horse and fell off. The horse ran into the intersection of Todd Drive and Marie Drive and hit a white flatbed nursery pick-up truck that was heading southbound.
The horse was killed instantly on impact. The driver, Cruz Castillo, was fine. Pedro Molina was transported to the Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Robbery Investigation
The Midland Police Department responded were dispatched to 2200 W. Illinois Avenue (Midland Memorial Hospital) at 05:47am in reference to a robbery.
Upon the arrival, Officers found that the victim parked her vehicle in a private lot and began walkingtowards a crosswalk via the Southside sidewalk on Illinois Avenue. Prior tocrossing Illinois Avenue they were approached by an unknown Hispanic female who had exited an early 2000’s model maroon SUV. The Hispanic female initiated a conversation with by asking for directions to Lamesa, TX. During this initial conversation the unknown Hispanic female interrupted the victim by demanding that they give over their purse, this demand was accompanied with the threat of shooting the victim. After a brief physical struggle the victim relented and released the purse. The Hispanic female proceeded to reenter the maroon SUV and both were last seen eastbound on W. Illinois Avenue. Upon dispatching the call multiple officers conducted a very through search of the immediate area butwere unsuccessful. Investigation continues and nothing follows.

Aggravated Robbery Investigation
The Midland Police Department responded were dispatched to 2315 E. Front Street (Kent Kwick) at 03:45 am in reference to a robbery.
Upon the arrival, MPD found out that minutes earlier an unknown Hispanic female described as follows: approximately 5’8” tall, 170 lbs., with long black hair, wearing a NY Yankees blue baseball cap, a tan hooded sweatshirt with blue jeans and “flip flops” entered the business and requested to purchase a pack of Newport cigarettes. While completing this transaction the unknown Hispanic female retrieved a can of “OC”/Mace from her right jacket pocket and after pointing the can at the victim, demanded all the cash in the register. When the victim closed the register, the Hispanic female deployed the “OC”/Mace striking the victim in the face/neck. After this assault the unknown Hispanic female exited the store on foot westbound, unknown at this time if the female had a vehicle awaiting her as she exited. Prior to exiting the store the Hispanic female made off with the pack of Newport cigarettes valued at just a little over $7. The victim received treatment for the injuries they sustained as a result of being “sprayed” and choose to finish her work shift. Evidence from the scene was collected and logged into a MPD evidencelocker. Video from the incident will be collected from Kent Kwick corporateoffices during normal business hours. Investigation continues.
