MARCH SALES TAX REVENUES
The City of Midland has collected this month's revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.  The total amount of revenue received was $1,559,612.  
 
This month's figure reflects a 15.24% decrease or a $280,435 decrease from March 2009.
 
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2009-2010 is down 22.16% or a $3,109,695 decrease from last year's totals at this time.  Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $10,923,019.
 
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; March collection is based on January sales.

PIT BULL SHOT CLINIC
City of Midland Animal Services Division will host a shot clinic for Pit Bulls only.  The event will take place on Saturday, March 20, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. at the shelter located at 1200 N. Fairgrounds Road.  
 
The cost is $20 for rabies shot, city or county license, and microchip.  Cash only.  Dogs must be on a leash.
 
The City euthanizes too many pit bulls because they do not have a city license or microchip.  Owners do not claim them.  Many times, these are great animals that need to be returned to their homes and owners.
