About Us
The Community Development office oversees the city's housing and community development program for its target neighborhoods. Its primary function is the implementation of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and the administration of its housing programs.
The CD Office prepares the annual CDBG application for funds, maintains the Consolidated Plan for Community Development and Housing Funds, contracts with sub-recipient agencies, conducts fair housing programming, and addresses a variety of federal requirements on a general basis and for specific project situations.
Housing programs administered by the division are loans for major projects and minor repair grant programs for owner occupants and the home buyer assistance program.
