Traffic Operations Division
Traffic Operations' responsibilities include conducting studies of vehicular and pedestrian traffic flow and patterns, residential and commercial development review, installation and maintenance of traffic control devices including pavement markings, traffic signage, traffic signals, school zone flashing equipment, traffic control enforcement, sight obstructions, and traffic crash analysis.
It authorizes the installation of street lights within the city and maintains street lighting on Loop 250 and a portion of Business I-20. Most other lighting is maintained by the local electric provider Oncor.
