Volunteering at a Point of Dispensing (POD) Overview

  • Midland Health & Senior Services is recruiting volunteers, over the age of 18, to assist in operating local Point of Dispensing (POD) sites for delivery of medications in certain public health emergencies or disasters.
  • For some types of Public Health incidents, such as a highly communicable disease outbreak, plans call for dispensing medication to all City of Midland / Midland County citizens within 48 hours.
  • Midland Health & Senior Services is recruiting medical and non-medical volunteers to contribute their skills and expertise to assist community agencies in the operation of Point of Dispensing Sites (PODS) during emergencies.
  • As a volunteer participating in an emergency response, you and your family will receive prophylactic medications before distribution to the general public.
