Micro-Grant Assistance Project

City of Midland Business Micro‐Grant Assistance Project

In an effort to assist small local businesses impacted by COVID‐19, the City of Midland and Midland College Business and Economic Development Center (BEDC) are collaborating to assist small business owners through the City of Midland Business Micro‐Grant Assistance Project (BMGAP). The program is available for business interruptions occurring on or after March 27, 2020 (date as signed by President Trump through the Corona Virus Aid Relief & Economic Securities Act) due to the COVID‐19, which resulted in required closures and/or voluntary closures to promote social distancing or decreased customer demand.

The City of Midland received COVID‐19 funding and intends to distribute those funds in the form of grants to eligible Midland small businesses directly impacted by COVID‐19. Grants of $10,000.00 will be made to eligible businesses and will be awarded on a first-come-first-serve basis. Due to limited funding, meeting all eligibility criteria does not guarantee an award. All required documentation must be submitted with your grant application. The City of Midland and the BEDC are available to assist any eligible business in completing the application and producing the required supporting documentation.

This program was approved by Midland City Council on December 29, 2020, and applications will be available for download at www.midlandtexas.gov starting Tuesday, January 26, 2021, at 5:00 p.m.

If you need assistance or have additional questions regarding this application, please contact the Midland College Business and Economic Development Center (BEDC) at 432-684-4309 or bedc@midland.edu or Isaac Garnett, City of Midland Community Development Manager, at 432-685-7408. The BEDC has been contracted to process applications. Micro-grant award decisions will be made by City of Midland Community Development Office.

Completed applications and supporting documents must be hand-delivered to the Midland College Cogdell Learning Center, 201. W. Florida Ave. Midland, TX. The building’s business hours are Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m.
