EZ-RIDER BUS SYSTEM SHOWS GROWTH IN MIDLAND IN DECEMBER

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The number of passengers using the EZ-Rider bus system in Midland in December easily topped year-over-year numbers and easily surpassed the number of riders in Odessa.

The Midland-Odessa Urban Transit District reported that 9,995 passengers used fixed-route operations in Midland during the month of December. That was a 15.89% increase compared to December 2022 and a 14.39% increase compared to the 8,737 passengers that used the bus system in Odessa.

That total does not include the 1,328 passengers that used the paratransit system in Midland. In Odessa that total was 839.

The Midland-Odessa Urban Transit District also reported 113,222 fixed route passengers in Midland during the entire 2023 calendar year. That number does not include 18,756 paratransit passengers. There were 99,799 fixed route passengers in Odessa in 2023.
