MORE INFORMATION ON TxDOT's BIG SPRING STREET ROAD WORK

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Work is scheduled to resume on Big Spring on Sunday. This nearly $19 million project began in August 2023 and is scheduled to be complete in October 2024, weather permitting.

Work will be conducted in one-week phases to allow one lane of traffic in each direction to remain open. Paving preparation work will be performed overnight while paving will be done during the day. This should help minimize impacts for drivers while keeping the project on track for timely completion.

Final paving surface will begin by phase 4.

Project Phases:

o Phase 1 – W Wadley Ave. to W Hamby Ave.

o Phase 2 - W Hamby Ave. to W Indiana Ave.

o Phase 3 - W New York Ave. to IH 20

o Phase 4 – IH-20 to W New York Ave.

o Phase 5 - W Indiana Ave. to W Hamby Ave.

o Phase 6 - W Hamby Ave. to W Wadley Ave.

o Phase 7 - W Wadley Ave. to 600 feet north of Loop 250
