MIDLAND’S UNEMPLOYMENT REMAINS 3.0%, LOWEST IN TEXAS

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The Texas Workforce Commission reported this week that the unemployment rate inside the Midland metropolitan statistical area remained at 3.0% in June.
The new jobless number was again the lowest in the state, ahead of Amarillo and San Angelo, which both showed rates of 3.1%.
The Commission showed the Midland MSA rate was the same as May and lower than the 3.1% unemployment rate in June 2024.
The size of Midland’s civilian labor force also moved in June to 106,200, up from 105,600 in May and up from 103,500 in June 2024 (an increase of 2.6%).
The state average was 4.1% during the month of May, according to the Commission.
