(Jan. 20, 2026)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- During the month of December 2025, the Midland Police Department initiated an Aggressive Driving Enforcement Program and partnered with the Texas Department of Public Safety for its Safe Passage Holidays campaign, increasing traffic enforcement over 71% compared to December 2024.

The Midland Police Department enhanced traffic enforcement operations with additional personnel in an effort to reduce aggressive driving to ensure safe holidays for Midland drivers. During the campaign which ran December 1, 2025, and ended on December 31, 2025, the Midland Police Department made a total of 2,856 traffic stops resulting in 1,064 traffic citations being issued. By comparison, the Midland Police Department made 1,666 traffic stops in December of 2024.

The Midland Police Department would also like to thank Texas DPS Highway Patrol and the Midland County Sheriff’s Office, which also participated in the campaign to keep our streets and highways safe.
