Airport numbers still pacing among best years in Midland's history

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The City of Midland still trends ahead of fiscal year 2023-24 for passengers, according to the December 2025 airport report.
While trailing last year’s record pace, Airport Department officials showed growth for passengers boarding airlines (Southwest, American Eagle and United) at Midland International Air & Space Port. The 188,191 passengers from October through December was a 4.44% decrease compared to FY 2024-25, but is still ahead of the 184,925 passengers during the first quarter of FY 2023-24 – the second highest total on record in Midland.
First quarter parking lot revenue totals this fiscal year ($2.221 million) are still outpacing last year’s record totals by 2.38% and the FY 2023-24 totals by 12.3%.
Southwest grabbed more than half of the passenger load in December (50.6%). United was second with 25.3%.
The fiscal year for the City of Midland begins in October and continues through the following September.
