VEHICLE SUBMERGED IN DUCK POND AFTER ACCIDENT

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Two juveniles were involved in an accident around 6:30 a.m. Monday when their mid-size sedan traveled into the Duck Pond at Wadley Barron Park.
According to the Midland Police Department, a 17-year-old female was driving a Lincoln MKZ southbound on B Street when the vehicle hopped a curb at the northwest side of the park, subsequently becoming fully submerged in the pond.
City officials and a local wrecker service successfully removed the vehicle from the Duck Pond around 9:10 a.m.
The driver attempted to flee the scene but was located approximately a block away, as reported by MPD. Both juveniles were treated for minor injuries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
