AIRLINE BOARDINGS AT MIDLAND INTERNATIONAL TOP 70,000 FOR FIRST TIME

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- For the first time in Midland’s history, the number of passengers boarding an airline in one month at Midland International Air & Space Port topped 70,000.
The City of Midland reported this week 70,340 passengers boarded either Southwest Airlines, American Eagle, United or Delta in June. That total was not only 14.25% higher than June 2023 but topped the 70,000-passenger barrier.
Airport information also shows a new record for passengers in a year is likely. City of Midland totals show 545,674 passengers through nine months of the fiscal year. That is more than 60,000 passengers greater or 12.49% higher year over year.
Parking revenues also have increased. The City of Midland shows $744,073 in net parking revenues, which is 17.76% higher than June 2023. More than $6 million has been collected this fiscal year – a 15.67% increase compared to the first nine months of fiscal year 2023.
