Airport shows another increase in airline passengers

JANUARY PASSENGER TOTAL AT MIDLAND INTERNATIONAL AIR & SPACE PORT INCREASES 8.35%

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The number of passengers flying airlines out of Midland International Air & Space Port in January increased 8.35% compared to January 2024.

The 51,190 passengers in January 2025 topped the 47,247 total from January 2024 and raised the fiscal year-to-date passenger total to 248,116 – a 6.87% increase from Fiscal Year 2023-24.

Southwest Airlines carried the largest share of passengers, with around 42.9% of the total in January. United was second with 29.3% of the passengers. Southwest, United, American Eagle and Delta all fly into and out of Midland International Air & Space Port.

City officials also reported that parking revenue at Midland International Air & Space Port increased 9.43% in January (compared to January 2024). The $717,964 in net parking revenue increased the fiscal year-to-date total to $2.887 million, a 9.66% increase compared to the first four months of Fiscal Year 2023-24.

The extra funding from increased passengers and parking will help with infrastructure improvements at Midland International Air & Space Port – including terminal modernization, the passenger screening relocation and parking additions.
