MPD SEEKS INFORMATION ON SHOOTING AT WASHINGTON PARK

(April 21, 2025)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- At approximately 9:34 p.m. on Sunday (April 20, 2025), Midland Police responded to the 1700 block of East Wall Street in response to an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

MPD officials stated there were reports of gunfire at Washington Park.

“Upon arrival, officers located a crime scene at Washington Park,” MPD reported. “The reporting parties were unable to provide details regarding the suspect's identity or vehicle.”

MPD also noted that around the same time, the police department from the Midland County Hospital District (Midland Memorial Hospital) contacted authorities to report a gunshot victim in the emergency room. The 17-year-old male was confirmed as the victim of the shooting. After receiving treatment at the ER, the male was airlifted to Covenant Hospital in Lubbock.
