John Burkholder was born in Pecos, TX in 1977 and eventually planted roots in Midland around 1990. John is an accomplished businessman with 24 years of successful leadership with a focus on best business practices and creating new standards of operational efficiencies. John has an extensive background in the retail industry and the oil and gas industry through recent and current positions in which he has served. He currently serves as Director of Ranch Water Resources and as the President of his family’s ranch, Burkholder Holdings L.P. John has been married to his incredible wife for 15 years and has 3 wonderful children. He enjoys spending time with his family, serving at church, working out, teaching Tae Kwon Do, and is a member of the local Rotary International organization. John is a graduate of Midland 101 and was appointed to the planning and zoning board in 2023. He most recently won the 2024 November election to become the newest City Council at Large member for the city of Midland. John enthusiastically looks forward to serving his community and using his abilities to help make Midland an amazing place to call home.
