CITY: PASSENGERS AT MIDLAND INTERNATIONAL AIR & SPACE PORT AHEAD OF RECORD PACE

MIDLAND, TEXAS  -- The number of people flying out of Midland International Air & Space Port has increased by more than 10% through the first third of the fiscal year.  

Southwest Airlines carried the largest share of passengers, with around 46.5% of the total in January. Southwest, United, and American Eagle all fly into and out of Midland. In December, the City of Midland announced that Delta will become the fourth airline to provide service, beginning on April 22, 2024. 

For the year, Southwest has accounted for 48.2% of the total passenger count at Midland International Air & Space Port. 

City officials also report that parking revenue at Midland International Air & Space Port increased 18.93% in January (compared to January 2023). The $656,079 in net parking revenue increased the fiscal year-to-date total to $2.633 million, a 14.72% increase compared to the first four months of FY 2023.
