MAYOR ADDRESSES SUPPORT FOR THOSE IMPACTED BY SUNDANCE CREEK SITUATION

(March 14, 2024)

MIDLAND, TEXAS --  Midland Mayor Lori Blong has offered this statement, thanking the community for its help with those impacted by the situation at Sundance Creek apartments in Midland.

“I want to thank Midlanders who have reached out to me to see what they can do regarding the hostage situation in our community.  Also, the churches that are stepping up with ways to help those who are temporarily being displaced are a huge lift and a great way to help our fellow neighbors!  We are currently coordinating with Midland County to coordinate assistance to those who are being displaced.  This teamwork will go a long way in helping those that are being affected by this incident.  Our police department is working with DPS, the FBI, and Odessa SWAT to continue the work of getting the hostages out of this situation unharmed.  For those who have reached out to me to ask for ways they can help, thank you!  Those wanting to help can reach out to Midland County Emergency Coordination at 432-688-4160. Thank you Midlanders, for stepping up!  We appreciate you!”
