CITY OF MIDLAND AWARDED 'CLEAN AUDIT' FOR FINANCE WORK

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Forvis, LLP has issued the City of Midland a “clean audit” for its work on the 2023 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
“The City was issued an ‘unqualified’ opinion, which means a ‘clean’ audit,” according to Christy Weakland, Director of Finance for the City of Midland. “In addition, there were no written findings. This is the first time in 20 years this has been accomplished.”
The Finance Department also recently reported that it received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association for its work with the 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). It was the City of Midland’s 40th-straight year to earn a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
