CITY: STRETCH OF NEELY NEAR MIDKIFF IS OPEN AGAIN

The City of Midland is pleased to report that Neely Avenue between Midkiff Road and Ward Street is open.
In five days, the City of Midland contractor, urged along by City staff, removed the existing pavement on Neely and repaved with two separate layers of asphalt pavement. This section of Neely was in very poor condition. The new Pavement Condition Index (PCI) score is 100.
The City of Midland’s Mill and Inlay project will continue on Neely Avenue between Midkiff Road and “A” Street.
The following are the remaining phases:
- Phase 2 from Ward Street to Garfield Street;
- Phase 3 from L Street to Western Street;
- Phase 4 from Western Street to “A” Street.
Weather permitting, all phases of the Mill and Inlay Project at Neely Avenue are expected to be completed by the end of May.
