THE MIDLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT KIDS ACADEMY 2024 RETURNS THIS SUMMER

(June 5, 2024)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The Midland Police Department Kids Academy 2024 will meet this summer!

The Kids Academy will begin Monday, June 10, thru Friday, June 14, at the MLK Community Center at 2300 Butternut Lane, the program will take place daily from 8 a.m. to noon.

These classes are free for children in first through sixth grades.

Our objective is to build a strong relationship with our youth and the community. Bringing back the Kids Academy gives us an opportunity to build on something special between the youth and the police. It all comes down to the word “TRUST.” You build trust by spending valuable time with people while informing the importance of serving a community. The program will provide many fun and engaging activities in areas of problem solving, fitness, team building concepts, as well as meeting Midland’s finest in the areas of law enforcement.

New applicants will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis for the 40 available spots, and those who have been through the class may be considered if there are any open spots remaining.

The application can be downloaded below and returned by email to the Community Relations Office. The application must include the signature of a parent or guardian.

The deadline to apply is Friday, June 7, 2024. If you have any questions, please contact Jessica Rodriguez at jrodriguez@midlandtexas.gov.
