MEET POLICE CHIEF CANDIDATES EVENT TO TAKE PLACE JAN. 29

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The City of Midland will interview three finalists for the chief of police at the Midland Police Department on Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2025).
The interview process will include a community meet-and-greet with the finalists from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Bush Convention Center, 105 N. Main St. The meet-and-greet is open to the public, and finalists also will make a general presentation on community policing.
The candidates are interim Police Chief Greg Snow, former Alliance, Nebraska Police Chief Phillip Lukens and former Colorado Regional Transportation District Chief Joel Fitzgerald. The three are looking to replace Seth Herman, who left MPD to take the same position with the Lubbock Police Department.
Finalists also will meet Midland Police Department leaders, the City of Midland executive team and City Department Leaders.
The Midland Police Department is budgeted for 275 sworn and non-sworn employees. Its proposed expenditures for fiscal year 2025 are $42.359 million – a 1.1% increase over the budgeted amount for FY 2024.
