COLLISION ON 191 SERVICE ROAD RESULTS IN SERIOUS INJURIES

(April 3, 2025)

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- At approximately 8:38 p.m. on Wednesday (April 2, 2025), Midland Police and Fire responded to a crash with serious bodily injuries in the 12300 block of State Highway 191.

It was on the eastbound service road that a serious motor vehicle collision took place. MPD reported a preliminary investigation indicates that a 2022 Ram 2500 and a second vehicle – yet to be determined -- were traveling in the same direction in the same lane. The second vehicle was reported to be traveling at a very high rate of speed when it struck the back right side of the Ram 2500.

“The impact pushed (the Ram) through the cable barrier separating the service road from the main lanes of Highway 191, causing it to enter the main lanes of travel,” MPD reported. “After the initial impact, (the second vehicle) continued eastbound on the service road, leaving the roadway. The vehicle traveled through a barbed wire fence and came to rest in a nearby caliche lot.”

MPD then reported emergency responders transported the driver of the Ram 2500 – a 44-year-old man -- to Midland Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle – a 24-year-old man -- also sustained major injuries and was listed in critical condition early Thursday morning. A passenger in the second vehicle – a 23-year-old man -- was transported with life-threatening injuries.

Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
