FILING PERIOD FOR NOV. 4 CITY ELECTIONS TO CONTINUE THROUGH AUG. 18

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- The filing period for those interested in being on the Nov. 4 City Council ballot began on July 19 and will continue through Aug. 18.

Positions on the ballot will be the mayor’s seat and council members for District 3 and District 4.

The mayor’s race is a city-wide position. District 3 is generally regarded as central Midland and District 4 includes much of west Midland. Please go to www.midlandtexas.gov/DocumentCenter/View/281/Council-Districts to view City of Midland district maps.

Key dates for the city’s election process

July 19: First day to file for a place on the ballot.

Aug. 18: The last day to file for a place on the ballot (by 5 p.m.)

Oct. 20: Early voting by personal appearance begins

Oct. 31: Early voting by personal appearance ends

Nov. 4: Election Day
