WORKFORCE COMMISSION: MIDLAND SHOWS WORKFORCE GROWTH, LOW JOBLESS RATE

MIDLAND, TEXAS -- Midland posted the second lowest unemployment rate in the state of Texas and showed growth in its civilian labor force during the month of November, according to this week’s report from the Texas Workforce Commission.
Midland’s unemployment rate of 3.2% is well below the state average (4.2%) and national average (4.3%) and trails only Amarillo (3.1%), according to the November jobs report.
The Commission’s report was delayed because of the federal government shutdown earlier this fall.
The Commission also reported the civilian labor force increased 1.8% in November (compared to November 2024). The state also grew by 1.7% during the same period.
