Inspections

To schedule an inspection, you may send an email to one of our inspection emails:

When requesting an inspection, please include the following information:

• Permit number
• Project address
• Type of inspection: Please provide any additional details to specify your inspection requirements.
• Contact name and phone number

Note: Inspection requests submitted before 4 pm, Monday through Friday, will be inspected the following business day. Requests submitted after 4 pm, Monday through Friday, will be inspected the day after tomorrow.

Gas Inspections

To schedule a gas inspection, you must first obtain a gas permit. Once you receive a permit number, please contact the building department office at 432-685-7390. If the home is occupied, please inform the permit technician. This will help us prioritize and expedite the inspection process.

Reinspection Fee

A fee assessed by the inspector due to an inspection or reinspection that is scheduled and/or corrections not being made or work not being completed. To request a reinspection, a contractor must contact the building department office or appear in person at city hall and pay a $50 reinspection fee.
