Smoke Detector Program
The Midland Fire Department Community Risk Reduction may be able to provide free smoke detectors to seniors upon request. It is the goal of MFD to improve quality of life and ensure life safety through a risk reduction program. To request installation of a free smoke detector, please call 432-685-7333.
Home Safety Survey
You may be eligible for a home safety survey performed by the Midland Fire Department if you live in a home:
...with someone over the age of 75 and/or under the age of 5; or
...that was built before 1950; or
...with someone who is subject to fall injuries; or
...without a working smoke detector; or
...that you suspect may have electrical hazards.

Child Car Seat Safety
The Midland Fire Department have car seat technicians on staff. To schedule a car seat safety check or installation appointment, please call 432-685-7436.
Free Blood Pressure Check
All fire stations are equipped to provide visitors with a free of charge blood pressure check. Visits for this and other purposes are invited between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. seven days per week.
Autism Awareness
Midland Fire Department and City of Midland Public Safety Communications Center are working to improve the care and identification of patients with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through a citywide registry.
