Adoption FAQ

Anyone 18 years and older with a valid ID can foster an animal. No prior animal care experience is required.

The length of time varies based on animal needs. Some may only need a few days of rest, while others may need a few weeks to recover, grow, or build confidence.

  • Kittens and puppies too young for adoption
  • Bottle babies needing frequent care and feeding
  • Nursing Moms and their litters
  • Animals recovering from illness or injury
  • Pets needing socialization or stress relief outside of the shelter

Yes! However, your pets should be up-to-date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered. It's recommended to keep fosters separated, especially if they are very young or recovering from illness.

Thats's wonderful! Once your foster is ready for adoption, you may apply to adopt through the standard Midland Animal Services adoption process.
