[ARCHIVED] Dennis the Menace Park Ribbon Cutting

DTM Invite

The City of Midland Parks and Recreation Division invites all Midlanders to join us for the ribbon cutting at the newly renovated Dennis the Menace Park on May 2nd at 10:30 a.m.  Many partners have helped with the park, creating an exciting new playground with four new adventures for kids to experience!  There is a new Baseball Field and a Treehouse adventure for kids 5-12, an “Old West” adventure for the younger kids, and an “Airplane” adventure area that is completely ADA accessible for kids of all ages!

A new bronze sculpture will be unveiled in the center of the park.  It was created by former Midlander Tom White, and was purchased for the park by the Midland Parks and Recreation Commission.

The original Lion water fountain has been renovated and located back in his place of honor at the entry to the park.  Many thanks to the Rodelo family, Lloyd LaBombard, the Denver Gardner Corporation, and Mayor Morales for bringing the Lion back to the park!

Playgrounds, Etc.  – a local Midland company – has installed the playground equipment and the new surfacing.  The Park was constructed by Mid-Tex of Midland and designed by Ty Sisco with Parkhill Smith and Cooper.

Look for the BIG 60th ANNIVERSARY celebration that will be scheduled in July.  At that time, the new Pirate Adventure Splash pad will open, completing the park renovations.
