An 18-wheeler hauling diesel fuel rolled over near the intersection of FM 1788 and Highway 191 on Monday morning, causing road closures. The truck had been traveling northbound on FM 1788 before 10 a.m. when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto the north service road of Highway 191 and rolled. Due to the fuel spilled on the road, the intersection was closed for several hours while the Midland Fire Department offloaded the fuel.
Speed was not believed to be a factor in the accident. The sharpness of the turn and the momentum of the fuel possibly contributed to it rolling. The driver received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
