The Midland Police Department recently concluded a lengthy narcotics investigation into a drug trafficking organization operating in the Midland area.
Midlanders Sanjo Nunez (DOB 12/1/1987), Rosalinda Rosales(DOB 12/27/1986), Joel Sanchez (6/21/1986), Benjamin Varela (8/5/1986), Matthew Lamb (12/31/1980) and Brian Nikolai (11/4/1959) have been arrested on federal drug charges in connection with an MPD narcotics investigation that began in December 2014. Last week, Nunez, Rosales and Sanchez pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking offenses.
During the course of the investigation, detectives made numerous undercover purchases of methamphetamine, which led to the identification of several individuals involved in a distribution network. This investigation also led to the seizure of a large quantity of methamphetamine and other controlled substances. Search warrants at various locations led to the seizure of approximately 11 pounds of methamphetamine, approximately 300 grams of cocaine, 3 pounds of marijuana, 9 firearms and $6,334.
