[ARCHIVED] Midland firefighters filling the boot to fight muscular dystrophy

The Midland Fire Department is kicking off its annual Fill the Boot campaign today to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Firefighters and volunteers will be stationed at four locations around Midland to collect donations in fire boots between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday this week. The intersection locations are:

• Midkiff Road and Wadley Avenue

• Midland Drive and Loop 250

• Midland Drive and Andrews Highway

• Garfield Street and Golf Course Road

The Fill the Boot campaign is conducted across the nation by firefighters, who have become vital sponsors for the MDA. Midland firefighters are often ranked among the highest fundraisers per capita in the nation for the cause.
