The City of Midland has collected this month's sales tax revenue from the State Comptroller's Office.
The total amount of revenue received was $2,420,031.
This month's figure reflects a 21.34 percent decrease, or a $656,669 decrease, from April 2015.
The year-to-date total sales tax revenue for fiscal year 2015-2016 is down 19.89 percent, or a $5,411,995 decrease, from last year's totals at this time. Fiscal year-to-date actual sales tax revenue is $21,800,135.
Sales tax revenue is generated by sales tax income from two months prior to collection; April collection is based on February sales.###
