[ARCHIVED] Splash pad open to public starting Friday, May 27

The splash pad located on the east side of Security Bank Ballpark in the Scharbauer Sports Complex will be open to the public this year starting Friday, May 27.

City of Midland's Parks and Recreation Division is inviting the public to enjoy the water feature for free starting at 1 a.m. on most Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through August. On weekdays when there are no baseball games, the splash pad will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The splash pad will not be open to the public during Rockhounds game times. On days when there is no Rockhounds game, the splash pad will close at 8 p.m. The splash pad's full schedule can be viewed at www.midlandtexas.gov/splashpad.

The water feature can be activated by tapping the baseball located on the south side of the splash pad. Citizens are asked to keep the area clean and to stay within the splash pad fenced area.
