Now is the time to take care of any outstanding City of Midland warrants in order to avoid being arrested during a statewide roundup.
The City of Midland Municipal Court, in conjunction with the Midland Police Department and more than 300 law enforcement agencies, will participate in the 2017 Great Texas Warrant Roundup starting Feb. 25. This event joins together cities all over Texas in a combined effort to serve outstanding warrants.
Notices have been mailed to defendants with outstanding warrants notifying them that they have an active warrant and to contact the Court before being arrested. Citizens with warrants in jurisdictions other than the City of Midland should contact those jurisdictions for information about how to clear those warrants.
Starting Feb. 25, Midland police officers and Municipal Court warrant officers will begin actively serving warrants. These officers will locate people at their homes, place of employment or anywhere else they may be found.
“The Municipal Court has a compliance program in place to assist defendants in fulfilling their obligations and successfully complying with court orders. We are encouraging defendants who are on warrant to come in and find out what options might be available to avoid being arrested.” Court Administrator Jake Medrano explained.
