[ARCHIVED] Juvenile declared deceased following pedestrian accident

A 13-year-old male was declared deceased following a pedestrian accident on Texas Avenue Friday morning.

Midland Police and Fire Departments responded to the fatal accident at approximately 7:56 a.m. Friday in the 2100 block of Texas Avenue, just east of Andrews Highway.

The investigation into the accident revealed that the 13-year-old male was running across Texas Avenue approximately 30 feet east of O Street when he was struck by a black Toyota Tundra pickup that had been traveling north on O Street and was completing a right turn onto Texas Avenue. The juvenile was not in a crosswalk at the time of the accident.

The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased shortly after.

Next of kin has been notified and the investigation into the accident is ongoing. No citations or charges have been issued.
