[ARCHIVED] MPD searching for two robbery suspects

The Midland Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects from a robbery that took place around 2:44 a.m. on Friday morning at the Stripes located at 2106 W. Front St.

One suspect, who is described as a light-complected male in his late teens and was wearing a black short sleeve shirt and blue jeans, entered the store and began distracting the clerk while another suspect, who is described as a black male in his late teens wearing a black long sleeve shirt and khaki pants, attempted to steal two cases of beer. The suspect with the beer assaulted the store clerk when confronted while the other suspect exited the store. The suspect who assaulted the clerk tried to steal another case of beer and leave the store but was stopped again by the clerk. The suspect then fled from the store empty handed. The store clerk’s injuries were minor.
