Beginning Monday, October 2, 2017, changes will take effect for scheduling inspections with the Permits and Inspections Department.
In order to provide better customer service, inspection requests made before 3:00 PM on a given day will be scheduled for the following business day. Inspection requests made after 3:00 PM on a given day will be scheduled for two business days ahead. This new time-frame will allow residents and requestors to more accurately plan for inspection visits.
Occupied buildings will continue to be scheduled for the soonest available appointment requested for gas lines, water lines, sewer lines, electric service changes, and HVAC equipment replacements.
Counter hours for the Plans Examiner are also changing. Starting October 2nd, walk-up hours will be 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM. Afternoon appointments are still available if scheduled ahead of time. Appointments can be made by calling (432) 685-7388 or emailing sthorpe@midlandtexas.gov.
“We appreciate citizens’ adjustment to the new appointment schedule,” said Steve Thorpe, Building Official. “With these small changes, the Permits and Inspections Department will be able to provide reliable service which keeps up with a higher volume of demand,” he added. Inspection requests have increased by 30% over the previous year.
Residents are welcome to contact the City at (432) 685-7388 with any questions.
